[Charlug] aRts is silent

A few days ago I downloaded an interview that aired on NPR on a day when I was 
out of town. I tried Amarok and Kaffeine and got an error. I then tried 
artsplay, which successfully played the whole thing, but I had no way to 
rewind it. Today I'm playing with other components of aRts and I'm getting no 
sound. I have artscontrol running, and it displays two bars which jump up and 
down, but no sound comes out of the speakers. I haven't touched the speakers 
since I played the interview, but artsd restarted a few times, and heeding a 
notice that artscontrol said, I made artswrapper suid root. What else can I 
try to troubleshoot this problem?
