[Charlug] Configuration Web Interface

Hi,

I am currently searching for a web application that is able to do 
maintain the configuration of a host. I remember webmin and some others. 
But I never really used them because they killed all comments and made 
the system later on unmaintainable. Any suggestions for a web frontend 
that is changing configuration files without messing them up?
