[Charlug] Speaker for 25 Apr 09?

We have a couple guest speakers coming up. I apologise for not having a firm
speaker schedule.

Dr. Hipp has agreed to speak at an upcoming meeting regarding his highly
successful Free Software project - SQLite. (http://www.sqlite.org)

Kevin Jones, from the UCLUG, has also agreed to educate us all on his
project - Free Linux PC. (http://freelinuxpc.org/)

Both of these guests are extremely busy so I have asked them to let us know
when they can fit us into their schedules.
I will keep the list updated as I firm up dates & people...

----------------------------

At this point I feel strongly that we should focus on a single monthly
meeting. We currently meet on the fourth Saturday of the month, at the
Levine Campus of Central Piedmont Community College.

If we end up back downtown at the main CPCC campus, I'll let everyone know.
At this point, we have nowhere to meet at the central campus, mainly due to
construction...

As to the Tuesday night meeting, I don't have the bandwidth to organize it.
If Pierre or Pat want to head that up, be my guest. Obviously everyone can't
meet on a Saturday morning. In theory we have enough members to support
multiple monthly meetings.

-----------------------------

I WILL bring ALL the library books to the next couple Saturday meetings. I
will NOT be unloading them from the van, so we can wander out to the parking
lot at the end of the meeting & do the library thing. MY PERSONAL GOAL is to
disburse as many books as possible. It makes no sense to me that we have all
these resources locked in a storage shed or (currently) my garage, with
nobody using them...

(Although my cat does enjoy sleeping on top of the stacks...)

Thanks,

Cynically speaking, one could say that it is true to life to be cynical
about it.
